The Die Has Been Cast is a novel in progress, set in a fantasy world which contains some elements of science fiction. It has been written and re-written on several occassions, and hopefully what is posted on this site right now is the last rewriting of it, not including any revisions that might be made.

DHBC is set in the Third Age of the Kirikian galaxy. Dasin, the brutal king of Shi, is trying to crush four of the other territories of Seishidaiko. Allied with the planet's strongest military force, Kaze, Dasin is an unstoppable force of massive proportions against the smaller, peace-loving territories.

Against Dasin are the rebels, those who risk everything on a daily basis to try to bring a stop to Dasin's tyranny. Led by Balrick, they find and try ways to topple Dasin and bring things back to the way they once were. Recently, one of their researchers found that direct descendants of the Shiroishikoi still live on one of their former colony planets.

Behind the rebels are their financial backers, the kings and queen of the other territories. Desperate to save their people from Dasin, they wait for the hero promised by Kodishin lore to lead them back to a time of greater things.

The hero they await is Kiri, a young girl on the planet Kirikai. Descended from the original inhabitants of Seishidaiko, the Shiroishikoi, she possesses awesome powers not seen on Seishidaiko in generations.

DHBC is the story of how Kiri came to Seishidaiko to topple the powerful king of Shi, and the consequences that spin out from her actions.
